About Coastal church of Christ

The Coastal church is a non-denominational group of Christians, seeking to do God's will in God's way. We have NOT polled the community to discover what people want in religion. Rather, we have polled God's Word to discover what HE wants of us. In our collective work, worship, and organizational structure, as well as in our individual lives, we seek to reflect the Biblical pattern.

What to Expect with Coastal church of Christ

Our doors are always open to visitors – whether you live in the community or are just passing through. The following information is not a 'creed', but is provided to help our visitors know what to expect when visiting with us.

In Our Approach to the Bible:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God–all–sufficient as a guide for individuals, families, and congregations. We believe in a literal interpretation of the scriptures, including the recorded miracles. We believe the Old Testament is worthy of study, for the wisdom and instruction it contains, but that the New Testament reveals God's will for humanity today.

In Our Assemblies:

We believe in worshipping God as He has directed in His Word. Therefore, you will find us doing much the same things that the church did in the first century. Our assemblies are characterized by 'a cappella' congregational singing (without instruments), the preaching of the gospel, and prayer. On the first day of every week we partake of the Lord's Supper and take up a collection from our local members (visitors are never solicited for money).

In Our Mission:

The work of this congregation is three–fold. First, we seek to evangelize those who are lost. Second, we seek to edify, or strengthen, those who are a part of this local congregation. We do this by providing regular opportunities to assemble and associate with one another, congregationally and individually. Third, we provide benevolent help for faithful Christians who are in need.
